On October 20, 2025, Mrs. Irine Imerlishvili was appointed as the Rector of BAU International University Batumi.

Mrs. Irine Imerlishvili holds a Doctorate in Law. She has held several high-ranking positions, including Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia, Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia, and Judge of the Constitutional Court. She has extensive experience in the public sector, as well as in academia and legal practice.

The university held an introductory meeting with administrative and academic staff, during which Mrs. Imerlishvili spoke about the university’s development priorities.

Mrs. Tea Mikeladze, who previously served as Rector, will continue her work as Vice-Rector and will also assume the responsibilities of Acting Director.
