01, Jun 2026

Sixth-year Medicine students from the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sofya Sandalova and Ugur Dal, proudly represented the university at the Silesia International Medical Conference (SIMC) held in Poland.

The students presented the following research studies during the Pharmacy and Pharmacology session:

• Ocular Adverse Effects Reporting with Semaglutide vs Tirzepatide in EudraVigilance

• Neurological Adverse Event Reporting After HPV Vaccination: VAERS

The abstracts of both studies were selected and published in the conference's official scientific proceedings, highlighting their academic value and relevance to current issues in medical science. Notably, one of the presented studies was awarded third place by the international scientific jury, a significant recognition of the research's quality, scientific contribution, and the students’ achievements on the international stage.

We congratulate Sofya Sandalova and Ugur Dal on this outstanding accomplishment and wish them continued success in their future academic and professional endeavors.
