On September 29, BAU International University Batumi hosted a seminar on “Living and Studying in a New Culture”, led by academic therapist and psychologist Mariam Sokhadze.
The seminar addressed the main challenges of studying and living abroad, including language barriers, cultural differences, academic adjustment, homesickness, and the importance of social integration. Students had the opportunity to take an active part in the discussion, share their experiences, and receive recommendations that will support their smoother adaptation to academic and social life.
In the concluding part of the session, particular attention was devoted to strategies for overcoming emotional challenges and developing effective communication skills, which play a crucial role in studying and living in a diverse cultural environment.
The event was organized within the framework of the Student Psychological Support Program and aimed to promote the academic and social integration of international students.
