Global Symposium on Chemistry, Biochemistry and Health Sciences (GSCBH 2026)

Academic staff and students of BAU International University Batumi participated in the 2nd Global Symposium on Chemistry, Biochemistry and Health Sciences (GSCBH 2026), held on July 23–24, 2026, at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.

The international symposium brought together scientists, researchers, and students from different countries to present the latest scientific research and developments in chemistry, biochemistry, medicine, biotechnology, environmental protection, and human health. BAU International University Batumi was represented at the symposium with five scientific works. Dr. Aleksandra Mikhailidi delivered two oral presentations: “Structural Gaps Between School Chemistry and Medical Biochemistry” and “Sustainable Cellulose Hydrogels as Soil Amendments and Soilless Substrates.” Dr. Elisabed Kvergelidze presented the research “Triiodothyronine αvβ3 Integrin-Mediated Action on the JAK/STAT Signaling Pathway.” Medical program students Hamad Asghar and Huzair Asghar, under the supervision of Dr. Aleksandra Mikhailidi, presented two poster works: “Antibacterial Activity of Sustainable Cellulose/Ag Composite Hydrogels for Wound Dressings” and “Preliminary Evaluation of Plant Extracts for Green Synthesis of Silver-Containing Cellulose Hydrogels.” The symposium proceedings were published in the International Journal of Chemistry and Human Health.

Notably, part of the research presented at the symposium was conducted within the framework of BAU International University Batumi's research grant projects GAIN (ED 01-25) and MEDIC (MED-01-25). BAU International University Batumi continues to support scientific research, international academic collaboration, and the active involvement of students in research activities.
